Please continue to read below for a Christmas greeting of gratitude, from Priscila.
Hello dear friends!
I’ve been thinking about writing this letter, but searching for words that can express my feelings and it is very difficult to say what I feel for all of you – those that I know and even others whom I have not had the privilege of knowing.
December 1st marked the 7th Anniversary since the Kairos House opened its doors to our dear guests. Time seems to have flown by! Looking back, we thank God first and then thank so many people like you that have made Kairos House possible.
Just to share with you some of the “statistics” from January 2010 up until the first of December: We have had an average of 6,600 “bed” services and we have served an average of 19,800 meals (may be a bit more). This seems impossible, being a Ministry that seems so small, but that is where the powerful hand of God comes through each of you who are our “angels”, as you are so ready to be the hands of God, the heart of God and the mouth of God to share with more people about Kairos Ministries so that we always receive the things we need in “KAIROS” (God’s timing).
As many of you know, we have been through hard and difficult times, when some of our “little ones” have passed away, but we have also experienced joy when we see some of the children, and adults, recover. We have learned from and received from our guests more than what we can offer them. We have learned what hope is in the midst of despair. We have learned to not complain so much for what you do not have when we see them with nothing yet always having a smile on their face and offering so much gratitude both to God and to the people who offer them help. I wanted to share this with you, because I know that whatever you do to help Kairos Ministries you do it for God and not for us, the Valdez family. However, as founders of this Ministry, we know we cannot do it alone, which is why our heart is full of gratitude for all that you do, and we believe with all our heart that the Lord our God will pay you back for everything.
During this time of Christmas, we want to wish each of you a most joyous time with your families. Together may we celebrate the true reason for the season, which is the birth of Baby Jesus, our Lord and Savior, who left His thrown in Heaven to come and save us from our sins.
To Him be all glory and honor, forever and ever.
May the peace and grace of God be with each of you and your families throughout the season and New Year.
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!
For Kairos Ministries, Priscila de Valdez
